First, it started happening only in IE8 (I'm running Windows 7) and only on certain VOD or Feature shows...but reliably each time I would try to play them. I switched to Firefox and the problem went away, until today. Now, the same thing is happening, although it's different videos doing it.
Until you mentioned that it was happening also in Firefox I thought it may be if you were running Windows 7 64bit and the 64bit version of IE8.
Have been looking at Windows 7 and see that Flash does not yet support 64bit IE which I believe is included along with 32bit IE8 in Windows 7. (Flash have just introduced a beta version for 64bit IE8 called "square" which is available to try without any automatic support/updates)
Otherwise, in Firefox I have been having difficulty in getting some VOD's to start after the inital buffering where it comes up with a greyish black screen with the message that it is the wrong version of Flashplayer to play the video. (I do have the correct and latest version of Flashplayer installed) Sometimes clicking that link fixes the problem immediately or after several further attempts at replaying the VOD.
